Please bring the following basic tools:
  • Paper and pencils (for sketching ideas)

In addition, we encourage you to bring any low-cost, recycled, or everyday materials that could inspire and enhance your 3D creations. These can include:
  • Cardboard (shipping boxes, cereal boxes, etc.)
  • Wire, string, or yarn
  • Scrap fabric or old clothes
  • Clay or air-dry clay
  • Newspaper or magazines
  • Masking tape, duct tape, packing tape
  • Glue, school glue sticks
  • Acrylic paint or any leftover paint you may have at home
  • Bottle caps, buttons, beads, straws, plastic containers
  • Nature items like twigs, leaves (dried), or small stones
Think of anything that sparks your creativity! Look around your home—something old or forgotten might just become the highlight of your sculpture.
Our school will provide hot glue guns and other shared tools during class time.

Teachers suggested that the paint is water-based, and is non-toxic. If students had purchased the oil-based oil painting set, please switch to the water-base paint after using up their old oil-base set.  For Portrait camp, students need one 16x20 or one 11x14

Students would need Adobe Creative Cloud ($19.99/mo for students/teachers) esp.: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Adobe Fonts (or a good selction of fonts on their computer). I believe the entire Creative Cloud is included in a 7 day trial, but check to confirm with Adobe. They will need access to a good range of typefaces, black marker pen and marker paper for sketching or they can do sketches digitally, camera or mobile phone camera (to take photos of sketches and other graphics to upload to the computer for viewing on zoom).
