FAQs
What's the difference Between a 9-month and a 12-month Plan?
A 12-month plan requires the student to commit the next 4 consecutive quarters at Ichen Art Academy, including the summer quarter. With summer quarter, however, students may choose to either attend a regular class for the summer, or attend at least one-week summer art camp or summer art workshop instead.
With a 9-month plan, students won’t be required to attend for the summer quarter, but need to commit to the other three quarters during the next 12 months.
With a 9-month plan, students won’t be required to attend for the summer quarter, but need to commit to the other three quarters during the next 12 months.
What will happen if I have to terminate my 9- or 12-month plan before its completion date ?
Upon signing up for a 9- or 12-month plan, students are required to make an initial deposit of $100/per class. This deposit will be credited back to the last quarter tuition of the plan period. If a plan is terminated before its completion date, the deposit will be forfeited.
Can i transfer to another class during the plan period ?
Absolutely. Students can transfer to another class during the plan period.

What’s a 3-month plan?
Ichen Art Academy has a quarter system. Each year is divided into four quarters. A 3-month plan refers to a single quarter plan. With a 3-month plan, parents will pay one quarter at a time, with no long-term obligations. This is a good way for those families with younger aged kids who just want to try it out and see if they really like art.
What’s a 9-month plan?
With a 9-month plan, you make a commitment of registering for the next three consecutive quarters, excluding the summer quarter. Each class you will receive $3 discount compared to a 3-month plan. Initially, you will need to put down a $100 deposit, which will be returned to you at the last quarter of the plan period.
What’s a 12-month plan?
With a 12-month plan, you make a commitment of registering for the next four consecutive quarters, including the summer quarter. Each class you will receive $5 discount compared to a 3-month plan. Initially, you will need to put down a $100 deposit, which will be returned to you at the last quarter of the plan period.
If I am on a 12-month plan, do I need to sign up for the summer quarter?
Yes. With a 12-month plan, you can either sign up for one week of summer camp/workshop, or one regular class (once a week) for the entire summer quarter.
What does In-Person/Online class mean?
If a class is marked as “In-Person/Online” on the Fremont class schedule, it means for Fremont students, it can be either In-Person or Online. But for Pleasanton students, this class will be online only, and vice versa.
With an In-Person/Online class, the teacher will start a Zoom class from a classroom at our school. Some students will attend the class in-person while others participate in the same session online.

If I choose an In-Person class, can I later change it to online?
Yes, this is allowed. If a student who has signed up for in-person class is experiencing flu-like symptom, we would recommend them take the online class instead of coming to school.
If I choose the online option for an In-person/Online class, can I later join in-person?
This is not allowed as we have a maximum class size for in-person students in a classroom.
Registration Fee
Each new student is required to make a one-time payment of $25 for the registration fee.
